Auxiliary Generators & Alternators
We provide comprehensive solutions for marine power generation, stocking both complete generator sets and individual spare parts for popular auxiliary engines such as Yanmar, Daihatsu, Wartsila, and MAN B&W.
Marine Alternator Testing Protocol
Used marine alternators must undergo rigorous electrical diagnostics before redeployment:
- Megger Testing (Insulation Resistance): Stator and rotor windings are tested at 500V/1000V DC. A minimum Polarization Index (PI) of 2.0 is required. If insulation resistance is low, the unit is baked and re-varnished.
- Diode Bridge Verification: The rotating rectifier diodes and surge suppressors are tested for forward voltage drop and reverse leakage to ensure stable excitation.
- Bearing Run-Out: Drive and non-drive end bearings are inspected for vibration and replaced with new SKF/FAG bearings with C3 clearance as a standard precaution.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you supply complete auxiliary generator sets?
+
Yes, we salvage complete diesel generator sets from vessels, which are then fully overhauled, load-tested, and certified.
What generator spare parts are commonly available?
+
Common parts include engine blocks, crankshafts, cylinder heads, AVRs (Automatic Voltage Regulators), and alternators for Daihatsu, Yanmar, and Wartsila sets.
